Stargazing Fundraiser FAQ

  • Do I have to rent a tent site, sponsor a tent site, and/or order food in order to participate in the event?
    • No.  The event is open to all.  This is a fundraiser, and renting a tent site, sponsoring a tent site and buying food on site raises funds for the Nature Lab Garden.  But it is not mandatory.
    • You can bring your own blanket etc. (please see below) .
  • What is the difference between renting a tent site and sponsoring a tent site?
    • If you rent a tent site, you can pitch your tent (you need to bring your own).  Or you can spread your blanket there...
    • If you sponsor a tent site in the name of your teacher, the teacher's name will be placed on a small banner on the pitched tents.  The banner may go on any tent, and conversely, a banner of some other teacher may be on your tent.
  • If I do not rent a tent site, can I pitch my tent?
    • No.  It would defeat the purpose of the fundraiser, and the tent would be likely in a place that would obstruct the view of others.  Therefore, outside of a rented tent site, no canopies, shelters, tents, umbrellas or anything that can obstruct the view is permitted.  You can bring blankets, sleeping bags or chairs and use the open space.
  • Can I camp on the rented tent site overnight?
    • Unfortunately, no.  We must pack up, clean up and leave by 11pm per the Fire Department and the FUSD.
