The Chadbourne EcoClub manages two student run programs at the school. To sign up for either, please use this form. The form MUST be filled by a parent. We will have an online form here soon to log the volunteer time. These hours go towards the student's community service hours. Energy PatrolThe goal of Energy Patrol is to turn off at the end of the day all computers and lights that are not in use. We work with the teachers to make sure equipment in use is not turned off.The Patrol is made of five groups of five students each - normally from upper grades. Each group is responsible for covering every classroom one specific day of of the week. Clean-up PatrolThe goal of Clean-up Patrol is to keep the Chadbourne campus clean and free of candy wrappers and other trash. This Patrol is made of four groups of ten students each - normally from upper grades. Each group is responsible for covering the ground once every month. Between the four groups, Chadbourne gets clean once every week. Tools are provided to pick up and dispose off the trash in a safe manner. While not that glamorous, this is a very special job that is appreciated by not only the users of the campus, but our marine neighbors in the Mission Creek. Lot of Chadbourne trash breaks apart in sunlight, and ends up through the fence in the creek. We prevent that by picking it up before it gets wings! Chadbourne campus offers many trash receptacles. Even if your child can not join the Clean-up Patrol, you can help keep the Chadbourne campus clean by teaching your child to use the trash can. This will directly help our Clean-up Patrol! |
